Criminal tree law: Lawmaker seeks loosening of offenses against your neighbor’s trees

SC law allows you to seek criminal charges against neighbors who cut limbs off trees that encroach the property line. For generations, judges have regularly deferred to the tree-cutting neighbors. A proposed law would entrench practice into law.
