‘Devastating’: Artificial lighting and beach renourishment threaten sea turtles in Myrtle Beach area

Sea turtles face an even greater threat on the beaches of Horry and Georgetown counties this summer due to increased development and lighting along the coastline, a delayed beach renourishment project, and other man-made factors.
