Gov. Henry McMaster pushes to save federal tax credits to keep VC Summer nuclear reboot alive

A carveout in Congressional Republicans’ “Big Beautiful Bill” will allow South Carolina’s efforts to reboot VC Summer access to critical tax credits if construction begins by 2028. That timeline is more than enough to begin work, state officials say.
